RFH 2018

*The submission process has ended for Recipes from Home 2018. Thank you to all who shared their wonderful family recipes. After an exhaustive selection process our chefs have selected four finalist.*

At some point in the semester, students begin to reminisce about those comforting meals that come from home. Our wide variety of well-balanced choices — including nutritious entrees, fresh fruit, salad bar, steamed vegetables, hearty soups, delicious deli meats and cheeses — is great, but can't compare to that home-cooked meal!

Our Recipes From Home program aims to satisfy the desire for a "home-cooked" meal. Bring your home cooking to your students home-away-from-home! We believe that parents and families are the best resources available to make our campus menu more like home. By sharing a recipe that your family has grown to love, you'll assist us in providing a wider and more popular selection of menu items.

Submit your student’s favorite recipe to have a chance to win a round-trip flight with a two-night stay during the annual Homecoming Weekend in November. Plus, your winning recipe will be featured in the Bruff Commons Dining Room at the Homecoming Weekend Jazz Brunch on Friday, November 9, 2018!

All recipes for special dietary needs are welcome, including gluten-free and allergen-free, vegan and vegetarian!

The deadline to submit your entry is Monday, September 3, 2018!

After the deadline, four finalist will be chosen. The winning recipe will be chosen by attendees of the Fall Food Rave on September 27th. Each recipe will be prepared by our chefs and attendees will vote on their favorite dish. The winning meal will be featured during our Homecoming Weekend Jazz Brunch on Friday November 9th.

The four finalist are:

Daniel Berinstein with his Hullabaloo Humus Chicken

Dorothy Burge with her Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Sun-dried Tomatoes and Smoked Paprika

Ed Buckle with is Ed's Easy Etouffee

Anne McCann with her Sardinian-Style Paella

Terms and conditions: Flights and hotel stay are only available to the parents or guardian of the student and any siblings who are 18 years old or under.
